The Yellowstone Park entrance is closed to motor vehicles from November through April each year. However, the entrance remains open to hikers, cross-country skiers, and snowmobiles year-round. The only entrance that remains open year-round to motor vehicles is the North entrance which is 170 miles (3 hours from the resort).

Annual Park Closures. West Gate is closed from October 31st - December 14th. Reopening December 15th for the Winter Season. West Gate is closed from March 16th-April 16th. Reopening April 17th for the Summer Season.
